1. The Magician: Fionn of Tuatha de Danann
Hi and welcome back to my little blog about my art magic and all other magical art endeavours. I just finished this collection of Tarot Major Arcana cards and I am eager to share them with you! To read about the full collection and what inspired the creation of this deck, check out the Tarot Deck Page here:
Otherwise without further adieu, here is the very first card:
The Magician Card, which features Fionn of Tuatha Dé Danann.
"The Magician is the archetype of the active, masculine principle - the ultimate achiever. He symbolizes the power to tap universal forces and use them for creative purposes. Note his stance in the picture. He acts as a lightening rod - one arm extended up into the Divine for inspiration, the other pointing toward Earth to ground this potent energy. [note] His abilities appear magical at times because his will helps him achieve what seem to be miracles." - taken from "Learning Tarot . com"
"Fionn mac Cumhaill (/ˈfɪn məˈkuːl/ F-yun mək-KOOL;[a] Old and Middle Irish: Find or Finn[1][2] mac Cumail or Umaill, sometimes transcribed in English as MacCool or MacCoul) was a mythical hunter-warrior of Irish mythology, occurring also in the mythologies of Scotland and the Isle of Man. The stories of Fionn and his followers the Fianna, form the Fenian Cycle (an Fhiannaíocht), much of it narrated in the voice of Fionn's son, the poet Oisín." - Taken from Wikipedia
